Walter Sigurdson
Walter Sigurdson, Boy Soprano
Since his debut as a soloist with the critically-acclaimed Boychoir of Ann Arbor in 2022, 11-year-old Walter Sigurdson has quickly developed a sizable list of outstanding solo performances, including soprano arias from Faure’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, and Mozart’s C Minor Mass. In addition to his passion for classical oratorios and art songs, Walter has also shown a keen interest in repertoire that encourages his interest in vocal improvisation, including songs such as Gershwin’s Summertime and Bricusse’s Pure Imagination. In addition to voice, he’s also showing promise on the flute, which he started learning at the age of 6. Walter’s father is a professional cello soloist and orchestral conductor, and his mother is pursuing a PhD in Anthropology and Social Work.
