Elim Wong, violin

Elim Wong, 13, is a seventh grade violinist from Plano, TX. She began her journey of violin study at age of four and her recent winning in competitions awarded her opportunities to solo with professional orchestra. She has performed the complete Mendelssohn Concerto in E Minor with Lewisville Lake Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Adron Ming, and Wieniawski Concerto in D Minor mvt.1 with Plano Symphony Orchestra conducted by Maestro Hector Guzman. 

Elim is currently under the tutelage of renowned violinist Shannon Lee and Eunsong Koh, and is fortunate to be nurtured by former DSO Principal Associate Concertmaster Jan Mark Sloman and Paul Landefield in her early years. 

Her list of accolades include Grand Prize at 2024 Vernell Gregg Competition, 3rd at 2024 MTNA national competition, 1st at 2024 MTNA South Central competition, 1st at MTNA 2024 Texas State competition, Grand Prize at 2023 Collin County Young Artists Competition, and 1st place in Elementary Concerto at 2022 DTMA Competition. 

Asides from playing the violin, Elim is an active chorus singer since third grade with CCGD and later DSO Children’s Chorus in numerous programs conducted by Cynthia Nott, Ellie Lin, Lawrence Loh, Julien Benichou, and Fabio Luisi. Last year, she was chosen to sing the child solo part at the Dallas Symphony’s EarthX-The Way of the Rain concert as part of the chorus. In her spare time, Elim enjoys reading, painting, and figure skating.
